McGann To Take Charge Of First Senior Final

All involved in the club would like to pass on our congratulations to Rory McGann and we wish him the very best of luck having appointed as referee for Sunday’s Clare Senior Hurling Championship Final.

A club referee since 2004, McGann has been the man in the middle for several high profile games this year including the Munster Minor Hurling Final, the U21 Munster Hurling semi-final and he was fourth official in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final between Tipperary and Galway.

Sunday’s appointment means he will now have officiated at every county championship final from U12 up.

His sister Ann Marie is one of his four umpires and she will become the first female to wear the white coat in a Clare SHC final.

Club members interested in taking up refereeing are asked to contact the club via email – nofgaa@outlook.com.

It will be the first time Rory takes charge of a senior decider and we wish him the very best of luck.
