Well done to all participants in our Turkey Trot on St Stephen’s Day, all 340 of you!
It was a beautiful December morning and what better way to kick it off than running or walking around the scenic Newmarket-on-Fergus countryside. Men and women, boys and girls all took part in what was a wonderful club outing.
We would like to pay a particular thank you to all participants, those who travelled from long distances, those home for the holidays, people from outside of the parish and we even had a minority that joined us after already completing a training session hours previous. Well done to each and everyone for taking part. We must also mention the committee and stewards for ensuring the event was a success.
A total of €2050 was raised as a result of today. It is the start of something special, today was the first step and now we want people to stay by our side whether it is by playing with teams, coaching with teams, helping as a club officer or supporter or getting involved in various committees. There is a place for everyone in our club.
