Newmarket-on-Fergus 2-20
O’Callaghans Mills 3-14
Venue: Fr Murphy Memorial Park, Newmarket-on-Fergus
Three late goals from O’Callaghans Mills had Newmarket on the edge of their seats for the final ten minutes in this Clare Cup Division 1A clash.
Both sides were minus several regular starters but it was Newmarket that seemed to deal better with their missing personnel, by half-time they hit a tally of 2-11 with the goals coming via Darren Duggan and Mikey McInerney.
As the game wore on, the intensity dropped a level with the Mills punching holes in the Blues defence as Colin Crehan caused problems up front.
Newmarket now move to second place in the table ahead of the final round of fixtures and guaranteed their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
