The Intermediates travelled to Tulla this afternoon to take on Clarecastle, a victory would mean they progress to the last 8. An ideal start to the game saw James McMahon raise a green flag with a shot to the top corner. It was fairly even throughout the first half with sides exchanging the lead a few times. Clarecastle went in at the break 1 point ahead but 5 minutes into the 2nd half Neil Ryan raised another green flag from a cross from James Freeman to bring the blues ahead. Clarecastle drew it even again in the 11 minute but it was to be Newmarket ahead until the final whistle. 2 outstanding points in the 2nd half from John Feehily inspired the lads to drive on. the 3rd goal came from a long range effort from Martin Frawley caught by the Magpies keeper but he dropped it to the back of the net to give a final scoreline of 3-20 to 1-17 in Favour of John Guilfoyle’s team. Well done to all involved.
