We’re delighted to announce details of a new partnership between primary schools in the parish of Newmarket-on-Fergus and our club.
Since 1994 we have been running the club lotto on a weekly basis, it is our main fundraiser and is the oxygen that helps our club to stay financially afloat. At present there are two weekly draws, one to the value of €10,000 and the other currently standing at €4150.
Recently our Lotto has taken on a new dimension as Stonehall N.S. and Ballycar N.S. are now selling weekly tickets for the draw as part of a new deal benefitting both groups.
It is envisaged that each family in the school who wish to participate would receive 3 tickets each week. Tickets can be purchased for 2 euro each or 3 for 5 euro. The split between club and school is exactly 50/50. For every ticket sold the GAA club receives 1 euro, the school retains 1 euro. Likewise if 3 tickets are sold for 5 euro the GAA club receive 2.50, with the school retaining 2.50. The GAA club is of course fully responsible for all weekly prizes.
In recent years, both club and school have been forging ever closer links, for the benefit of the young people of our community. The Schools Coaching Programme continues to be a tremendous success with the club providing 2 fully certified coaches who visit the 4 local primary schools on a weekly basis to impart the skills of the games within the framework of the school’s P.E curriculum.
We feel that this latest venture has the potential to provide much-needed finance to both institutions and reinforce the benefits to our children. As always we look for, and are confident of your support and thank you in anticipation.
Just this week we had two winners from Stonehall N.S. with David McNamara and Anna McInerney winning €40 after purchasing their ticket from the school.
