Tuesday saw the beginning of the Fitzgibbon Cup with two Blues involved with different colleges as the action commenced.
Liam O’Connor made his Fitzgibbon Cup debut lining out at corner back for UL. The Brian Lohan managed outfit defeated CIT 2-23 0-16 with Liam playing the full hour.
Fellow U21 hurler, Colin Guilfoyle was part of the Mary I panel that got their defence of the title off to a winning start beating GMIT 2-31 0-16.
Well done to both colleges and the two lads, it’s a real positive sign to see club representatives involved with this competition.
