Congratulations to Enda Barrett and all involved with Garda College as they claimed the Ryan Cup at the weekend.
It is the second time the college has won the Division II hurling championship for third level colleges. They secured the title with a 5-24 1-09 victory over IT Sligo.
Enda was wing back on the team, he was joined in the half-back line by All-Star Padraic Maher and Smith O’Briens’ Dwayne Sheedy. Other Clare men involved were; Stephen O’Halloran, Niall Quinn and Michael O’Neill.

Well done to Enda and all the trainee Guards on their success. The Barrett family have a fine supply of medals but this is the first time a Ryan Cup medal will enter the household, joining the Fitzgibbon equivalent won by David in 2009.
