Club Teams Receive Food Presentation From Healthy Joe

There have been major changes in the modern GAA world. Among them is a greater understanding and appreciation of the importance of nutrition.

Food preparation and the meals being consumed by players can affect performance. Newmarket-on-Fergus’ Joe Carrig is the man behind ‘Healthy Joe’s Granola’.

Over the past few days he has given a demonstration to adult hurlers in the club getting them to sample his product and also to speak to them about the benefits associated with ‘Healthy Joe’s Granola’.

Having completed a degree at GMIT, Joe was inspired to produce something without any additives and that gives the consumer a filling of fullness without having eaten too much thus eliminating weight gain. At the Galway institute, he impressed lecturers and mentors with his ideas and enthusiasm. Therefore it is no surprise to see him putting so much energy into this venture.

Our minor camogie and hurling teams were also treated to some of the granola. Reports from all tasters have been extremely positive with a lot of orders being put in subsequent to the demonstrations.

CLG Cora Chaitlín would like to thank Joe for taking the time out to come into our teams, it was clear to see the effort he went to and we really appreciate it. As a former player and mentor with the club we wish him every success with ‘Healthy Joe’s Granola’ and we would encourage you to try some for yourself and then support him.
