St Joseph’s opened the scoring after 5 minutes following wides on both sides, Colin Ryan took 6 points from placed balls within the first 20 minutes, leaving the half time score all square 0-09 for both teams. The other 3 points from play were from Colin, Eoin Hayes and Sean O’Connor.
James McInerney scored 2 fine points from distance in the 2nd half along with a goal from Colin Ryan who pounced first when the keeper saved a Mikey McInerney shot. James was solid in defence all day keeping his man Alan O’Neill ,Barfield’s attacking threat scoreless until the end when he scored a free. Also taking their scores were Shane O’Brien and Colin Guilfoyle. Stephen Kelly also did very well with his distribution of the ball.
A very good display especially in the 2nd half saw us qualify for a well deserved spot in the Quarter finals of the championship, alot of work to be done on scores with a tally of 14 wides across the 60 minutes but job done for today, Well done to all involved.
