This coming weekend two of our adult hurling teams will be in championship semi-final action.
On Saturday our Junior B Hurlers square off with Feakle in Dr Daly Park, Tulla. This is a repeat of the 2015 League Final and championship quarter-final, the East Clare men had the upper hand on both occasions so we’re hopeful John Hannon and his panel will come out on the right side this time round.
Sunday sees our senior hurlers take on Sixmilebridge with the victor advancing to the final of the Clare SHC. It is the first time since 2013 that the sides have met in championship and that year was also the last time Newmarket competed in the semi-finals of the SHC.
Both games are going to be very tough and a large Newmarket support is necessary to give all our players an extra lift.
Exact times and referees will be decided at a meeting later this evening.
