Newmarket-on-Fergus had reason to celebrate on Friday evening as they claimed the U13 B Shield defeating Clonlara.

In a closely fought contest played on Friday evening, it was the home side that made full use of the familiar playing surroundings to grind out the win.
As the year has progressed, the extra games have stood to Newmarket with their panel having improved leaps and bounds. Their opponents Clonlara put up an impressive battle and some tight contests between the teams look likely for years to come.
After the game, Bord na nÓg Chairman and Blue Joe Pender presented the Shield to Aaron Moroney.
Well done to the Newmarket boys on their win and thanks to Clonlara for such a competitive game.
