Cathal Kilmartin has been reappointed as the manager of the Newmarket-on-Fergus senior camogie team for 2018.
It will be his second year in the job having taken over following the departure of Darren Hayes in April 2017.
No silverware was obtained by the Blues senior side this season but Kilmartin will be hoping to put the lessons learned to use when they return to the training field in the New Year.
Speaking at Saturday’s AGM, Cathal outlined that they participated in four competitions, conducting seventy three sessions plus 10 games between league and championship. A total of thirty players were used during the League.
He commented that his first year in the role “was a massive learning curve” and paid tribute to his management team of John McInerney, Carol Toomey, Davy McCormack and Frank McCormack for their efforts. Further praise was given to the players, Jody Halpin for sponsoring tops and his extended management team.
“I would like to continue to finish what we started” Kilmartin concluded in his report. Wishing all involved with the senior camogie team the very best for 2018.
