U6s Celebrate End Of Season

On Sunday morning we celebrated the efforts of our boys and girls playing U6 for the club.

As per usual at 11am all groups commenced their various drills, working and improving on skills they have been developing all throughout the year with plenty of laughs in between.

From the second field we headed to the stand where each and every child was presented with a medal, certificate outlining their achievements over 2017 and tips for the winter, plus a party bag which included a sliotar. Thanks to Richard Woods for supplying the sliotars, Shane Collins for the medals and Alphaset for the medals. All-Star nominee and club senior captain, Roisin McMahon was on hand to present the certs and medals where she was aided by Games Development Officer Liam Clancy.

Before we proceed with the rest of the acknowledgements, we wish to congratulate all the boys and girls on an excellent year. They arrived at Fr Murphy Memorial Park with smiles on their faces and that expression didn’t change when they left. We look forward to welcoming them back in the coming months and seeing them line out for the club in years to come.

Their development would not happen had it not been for the contribution of their parents and guardians. Getting them to the field can be a difficult task and encouraging them to stick at it and practice during the week is central to this progression.

Our U6s were superbly organised in 2017 and this is all down to their Head Coach Tomas Ryan who is helping to put the club back on solid ground. Well done and thanks to him along with his managerial team of John Meehan, Oliver McMahon, Davy McCormack, Liam Clancy and Paudie McMahon plus all the parents who assisted in the running of various drills.

Check out our Facebook page for a full album from the day. As per our Child Protection regulations only photos of underage teams and players can be shared from official accounts. With that in mind, if you have photos that you want to pass on to us from Sunday or any day during the year, contact us on social media or email nofgaa@outlook.com
