Positive Financial Year But Club Costs Rising

A comprehensive financial report of the year gone was provided to all in attendance at the Annual General Meeting of CLG Cora Chaitlín on Sunday.

Treasurer Jimmy Clancy gave a breakdown on the club’s income and expenditure. He acknowledged that with successful fundraisers it was a positive financial year but stressed “it is getting more costly every year to run the club”.

The weekly commitment of individuals selling the Lotto and organising the draw was singled as was the efforts of those behind various fundraising committees.

To help our club remain strong financially, here’s a few tips on what you can do to assist.

  • pay your membership
  • buy lotto each week (online option recommended for our Blues Abroad)
  • support fundraisers
  • be accurate so as to cut down on the cost of sliotars
  • join a relevant committee to give your ideas

Jimmy will continue in his role as Treasurer for the coming year. This is one of the thankless jobs in the GAA and he is definitely one of the unsung heroes. His professional expertise are a great asset to our club and we look forward to him managing the books for a long time to come yet!
