2nd Round U14B Championship – Report

Newmarket-on-Fergus (5-03) vs Clooney-Quin (0-8)
Venue: Newmarket-on-Fergus

Referee: Shane O’Loughlin

After last weeks defeat, the girls came out all guns blazing in tonight’s encounter against Clooney-Quin. Maeve Begley was first to split the posts for us. Clooney-Quin answered with a well taken point by Molly Slattery. Soon after NOF’s Amy Madden hit the back of the net and from there the Newmarket girls took charge of the game and lead the whole way through. Clooney-Quin fought back well hitting a further 7 points but were stopped in their tracks by 3 superb goals from Amy Considine. Kaci Toomey also chipped in with a further goal and a point.

Newmarket had a new goalie tonight, Grace McMahon, who was superb in goals with a great puck out and made an amazing catch and she was well assisted by resilient backs.

All around all the girls put on a great display of camogie, well done girls keep the momentum going.

Their next match is scheduled for April 18th against Crusheen in Newmarket. Make sure to come out and support them.
