GAA orders all clubs to close ‘completely’ to tackle spread of coronavirus

The GAA has ordered all clubs to close their facilities “completely” in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means that individual players won’t be free to use club pitches for solitary practice sessions – or even to avail of a club gym when no one else is present.

Croke Park issued a circular to all counties this evening, with a series of instructions for all units to follow as the country tries to stem the growing threat of Covid-19.

The circular was signed by GAA director-general Tom Ryan and president John Horan.
