Huge Congratulations to Ellen Casey who last Saturday travelled to Tagmon in Wexford to take part in her 1st 60×30 National handball competition.
Ellen paired up with Chloé Philpott of Kilkishen to represent Clare in the Nationals finals 13 & under this year.
They got a bye in the quarter final and took on the home team from Wexford in the semi final taking the game in a tie breaker 11-2. 15-7, 7-15 ,2-11 the score.
In the final they came up against A Brennan/L Power of Kilkenny and won in 2 games 15-9, 15-11.
This is a huge achievement for the Clare duo considering the only 60×30 alley in the county is in Tuamgraney where the girls travelled to train for the past few weeks to prepare. Ellen is also a gifted player in the smaller alley (40×20) where we will no doubt see many more national titles coming to the village.
