Lotto Deferred Due To Ophelia

With the arrival of Hurricane Opehlia tomorrow well documented, we have been heeding the advice of Met Éireann and Clare County Council.

Subsequently Monday evening’s Lotto Draw has been deferred till Tuesday where the venue will be The Honk.

According to Met Éireann “Hurricane Ophelia is expected to transition to a post tropical storm as it approaches our shores on Monday bringing severe winds and stormy conditions. Mean winds speeds in excess of 80km/h and gusts in excess of 130 km/h are expected, potentially causing structural damage and disruption, with dangerous marine conditions due to high seas and potential flooding”.

All schools in the county have been advised to close by Clare County Council. Limerick’s three third level education facilities; LIT, MIC & UL will also be shut for the day.

Remember Teresa Mannion’s words “don’t make unnecessary journeys”, stay safe and keep an eye on each other.
